So in more detail what I do is apply the lipstick like normal, blot with tissues, powder the lips, reapply lipstick and repowder. It also makes the colour last longer so that's yet another plus.

Creating matte lip colours from non-matte colours
I bought a new It Started With a Kiss from Lush yesterday so that I could have one for home and one for my purse and I discovered something amazing. It Started With a Kiss, like all Lush lip tints, is a glossyish finish, but, just like glossy lipsticks, you can powder over them with translucent powder and turn them into matte lipsticks! So now I have a lovely matte red to play with yay.
