I baked pink cupcakes for a movie night I'm going to tomorrow, they were originally going to be rainbow, but then I couldn't be bothered separating the batter and pink is so pretty!
I'm not sure if they're pink enough for people to actually realise that these cupcakes are pink, but it doesn't really matter, I'm more interested in people thinking that they're strawberry flavoured when they're actually vanilla.
Tada! Pretty pink batter. It looks more coral there, but you can see it better in the next photos
Getting ready to fill the baking trays
Pink!
So many cupcakes! (one of these and two of the others)
Ready for transport!
How pretty are they?! Sprinkles!
I used this recipe from Exclusively Food for the actual cupcakey part of it, I doubled the recipe so that there would be heaps (I really like these as just vanilla cupcakes or add cocoa for chocolate cupcakes) and got inspiration from these two bakers: Call Me Cupcake and Family Kitchen
Also, whilst at IGA looking for ingredients and such, I saw this:
What is that?! Gubble Bum?! WHAT? I read it as Bubble gum and got excited, until my brother pointed out that it is not the Bubble gum I was expecting. What is this?!

Favourite hair product combination
I have many, many Lush hair products (not to mention all of my other Lush) and I think I've found my favourite combination of hair care for perfect, soft, lovely hair. (or at least for my fairly dry hair)
Shampoo with Godiva
Rub over the hair a few times then place the bar on the shower mat/a dry wash cloth/etc. and allow it to dry fully before putting it back in the tin. Then rub the shampoo in as normal and rinse.
Condition with Jungle
Hold Jungle under the shower spray for a few seconds until it's melted slightly and slide it from root to end down the hair a few times, comb to make sure all the hair is coated and tie in a bun, keeping it out of the water, then rinse after a few minutes, leave for longer for a deeper conditioning and so on.
Leave in condition with R&B
Put less than a pea sized amount (change depending on hair length and dryness, I have pretty dry, long hair and use a very small amount (less than a pea)) of R&B in your hands and rub them together to coat them, then run R&B over the hair, focusing on the ends. You can apply more once your hair is dry if needed.
It's amazing.
Seriously, you guys, it makes my hair so soft, I can't stop stroking it.

It Started With a Kiss from Lush
This is one of my most recent favourite Lush products, I really like the whole 20's (and later) bright red lips style, especially with some form of glamour 40's/50's hair do and winged dark black eyeliner. The only problem is that I have dry skin, also dry lips, so all those Mac lipsticks dry them out and then it looks horrible.
Solution:
Tada! Lush's It Started With a Kiss lip balm!
I really like this because you can layer it from more subtle red tinged to full on bright red lips. The SA said you could use it as a blush as well, but I'm really loving Benefit's Benetint (I also like that for lips, but it's a stain, so I need to apply lip balm throughout the day).
It's very moisturising, but not in a glossy way, it's more matte, but not super matte, if that makes any sense at all.
Oh Lordy, the smell is amazing, it's like toffee apples, red apples and cinnamon, so damn delicious. It's quite strong too, one of my friends has It Started With a Kiss and we also know when the other is wearing it, not just because of the tint.
I tried taking photos of just my lips, but they all looked odd, so here's a face of the day and some swatches on my arm.
(my arm looks really yellow, probably because I have no knowledge of cameras at all, even though my last art assignment was a photography assignment, needless to say I didn't do well)
One swipe of It Started With a Kiss
Three swipes
Ma face.
I am using:
Garnier Anti-Dark Circles Roll-On Light (love this stuff, will talk about it more later)
Lily Lolo mineral foundation in Blondie
Lush It Started With a Kiss
Mac Dipdown fluidline
Benefit Benetint
Benefit Badlash plum
So that should give you some idea of how bright it gets.
Next on my Lush list is Double Choc lip balm, I'm hoping it will be a kind of dark nude colour.
Well, I'm off to re-attempt getting my drivers license, that should be fun.

No! I'm not ready for his death!
Just watched the most recent episode of Doctor Who (S06E12) and I am so worried for the next episode. What if he actually does die and that's the end of Doctor Who? I can't live in a Doctorless world!
But at the same time, I'm nearly positive that he won't actually die, or he'll come back or something, because there hasn't been nearly enough explanation of River or what's going on with Amy and Rory...Maybe it'll turn into a show all about River...I don't want that.
I also don't want a new Doctor though, I love this Doctor and I loved the previous two, but I'm scared that if he does somehow regenerate that I'll hate the new one.

New pretties and excitement
I went to Dangerfield today, 'twas awesome. I bought a shirt for my friend Harry's birthday, it has Will Smith on it, he too is awesome.
I feel really weird writing this because I'm going to put my blog on my CV and then I'm going to email it to Lush, and then they might read it, and that would be weird when I'm so used to pretty much just my mum reading this.
So the excitement in the title is that the Lush shop near me is hiring casuals for Christmas and I'm going to apply and I really hope I get it, but I'm also a bit terrified of all the people and making suggestions and being possibly too enthusiastic about all the lovelies of the store. And also the immense disappointment I will feel if I don't get it, but also relief...jobs are scary.
I'm watching Doctor Who with my family now, I've already seen the new episode (s06e11), because that's the kind of fan I am, but it's still just as good watching it again.

Busy day!
Today I did some things that I've been wanting to for a while.
Number one, I made piklets. Not sure if people know what "piklets" are, but they're like pancakes...but smaller and different somehow, better in my opinion. Anywho, my grandma makes them and here is her super secret recipe
1 1/2 cup self raising flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup milk
Mix it all together
Spoon small circles onto a hot frypan and flip when bubbles appear
They should look like this
And my favourite way to have them is warm with butter/margarine and eaten while the butter is still cold
I made heaps, so they should last me for a while
I also planted my herb garden! I've wanted a herb garden for a while now and I finally went to Bunnings and bought a shit load of plants and soil.
I also bought a black velvet petunia. Fancy, I know. Not really, it was $7 and pretty.

What the hell kind of an ending was that?!
TRUE BLOOD SEASON FINALE EPISODE SPOILERS
You have been warned.
Jesus, noooooo! Tara! Nan! So many deaths this episode, or possible deaths, possible resurrections, I suppose.
And what was that?! That ending, what?! Everyone's dead, Sookie calling for help, Tara bleeding profusely and most likely dead?! Why, True Blood?!
I think I'm most upset about Jesus, he was freaking awesome, especially with his powers, which I'm pretty sure, and hoping, Lafayette now possesses.
So that episode was friggin' insane. No EricxSookie or BillxSookie? Why?! I'm liking the Eric and Bill camaraderie, but I want Eric and Sookie to be together! It's meant to be!
I'm still pretty sad about Jesus' death, also because I keep typing his name and reading it as "Jesus", as in supposed son of God, and thinking the True Blood writers are going to make it into some metaphor or something ridiculous like that. I'm not sure Christians will agree with his sorcery and homosexuality though. Oh God, now I really want him to come back as actual Jesus.
I'm sure he'll be back with his polo shirts and nurse-ness all ready for more crazy witchery, how could he not?
Come back, Jesus! You can't possibly be dead.

Lush Ultrabland
So I've been trying out Ultrabland the past two weeks and I am very impressed, but also dubious and skeptical...
I tried Ultrabland a few months ago and it broke me out on the second day of using it, but I now think that I was using it wrong.
So this is how I use it now:
First of all it's very important to completely clean all of Ultrabland off when using it. A lot of people with oilier skin or like a really clean feeling after cleansing think that Ultrabland will leave a residue and make their skin look oily, but that shouldn't happen unless you don't clean all of it off.
So now this is my skincare routine:
Wet hands with warm water and rub less than a pea sized amount between the hands
Massage into face for a minute or so all around
Wet a washcloth with hot water, the hotter the better, and place it over the face, steaming it until the washcloth goes warm
Then re-wet the washcloth with hot water and rub in circular motions around the face
The next step is pretty crucial. Sprits toner on face or put it on a cotton round and wipe over face. I use Eau Roma from Lush because it has no alcohol, is good for redness and doesn't irritate my skin.
Then moisturise and such.
So onto the actual review!
So far, I love it more than any other cleanser I've used. It's cleared the few spots I had, redness is pretty much gone, and my favourite thing so far, my moisturiser goes on so much smoother and I'd imagine liquid foundation would as well, but I use mineral foundation and I haven't noticed much difference with that, except that I use less.
But I'm a little worried that it will make me break out sometime later on, because I've read of the oil in oil based cleansers getting trapped in some pores and then exploding in a horrible case of horribleness...I will report back in a few weeks and tell you the results
I don't mean to put anyone off with the word "exploding", so far I truly am amazed with the results, my skin has never been clearer or softer, I'm just uncertain and paranoid about something being too good to be true.

Bitches gotta be superior, don't they?
This whole thing with original and new potterheads is pissing me off so friggin' much. Like people that have read all of the books several times, can quote the movies, have loved it since they were children, are somehow better than people who have only seen the movies?
So I didn't read the books when I was little, I have better, more important, things to read now. Why does it matter that you know every single little detail about Harry Potter? What colour pants Ron was wearing in the third movie, how they do Bellatrix's hair (though I would like to know that!). Why can't we all just enjoy Harry Potter and leave it at that?
To be honest, when I see those 'I'm so much better than you because I'm an original fan' posts on tumblr, I go "ugh." and I literally roll my eyes not of my own volition.

Okay, I have a super light backpack...now what to do with it
I just bought a Barefoot Wanderlite Backpack after going crazy reading literally every page on Onebag.com because my recent trip to Europe was a bit disastrous with all of the unnecessary things I brought along. So for my next trip somewhere I'm going to attempt to pack one bag that is fairly light weight.
Tada! Wanderlite!
And what's really cool, but I'm not sure how I'm going to make useful, is that it rolls into a little ball and is all small and compact and stuff
I would completely recommend reading Onebag.com, it's an awesome website with some really good tips, tricks, ideas, etc. for packing light.
I went to Sydney a few weeks ago and brought this bag:
That's a book a bit bigger than an A5 piece of paper for comparison
But I think I still brought too much stuff and it was quite uncomfortable carrying it around the airport (carry on).
So now I'm going to attempt just taking the Wanderlite and maybe a handbag for the plane. I think that my main problem is toiletries. I hate to be without my toiletries and makeup. If I were to go somewhere for a few days right now I would bring:
- cleanser (I'm trying Lush Ultrabland at the moment, I'll let you know how I like itsoon right now)
- little pot of moisturiser (Perfect Potion Moisture Base)
- 25ml jojoba oil
- lip balm
- a comb
- eye cream (Lush Enchanted Eye Cream)
- Lush Vanillary solid perfume (Smells freakin' awesome)
- A small pot of manuka honey
- Small pot of Lush The Big Tease
- Lush Godiva solid shampoo and Jungle solid conditioner
- Toothpaste and toothbrush
So it's not that much in all the little sizes, but the case takes up a lot of room...I'm thinking of wrapping all my stuff up in a scarf so that it forms to the shape of the products rather than being square or rigid.
For makeup I would bring
- Revlon colorstay eyeliner in black
- Lily Lolo mineral foundation - Blondie
- Lily Lolo mineral concealer - Nude
- MAC 187, 252 and 217 brushes
- Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in Tattle Tale
- MAC Paint Pots in Painterly and Constructivist
Yep, that adds up to quite a lot of space.
And then I either overpack with clothes too or only bring jeans and t-shirts.
So now that the Wanderlite has arrived I'm not sure what to do with it because I'm not going anywhere anytime soon, but it's all new and exciting so I really want to use it...
I'm really considering just deciding on a destination, packing for that destination and seeing how light I can get my pack...and then never leaving my room.
I am so damn bored right now.
Tada! Wanderlite!

Today I did nothing
I did do some things, but not the things that I was supposed to do...
Study of Religion assignment
Business assignment
Call my mother
Instead I watched Fringe, The Office and Doctor Who all damn day. I also sewed a little toiletries bag, which was fun, but time consuming.
Tada!
Wait, never mind, I did do things, just nothing important.
I made t-shirts with Wheezy Waiter quotes on them.
I don't know why there are always blue circles on my photos...
If you haven't seen Craig's videos you should start now because you will very likely get addicted to them and not sleep for days.
Here is something that I think would be a good starting point
The Coffee Saga
This one's humorous too

Also, I love OlanRodgers and this video makes me burst out in laughter

My teeth feel funny
There's something wrong with my teeth...I don't know, they just feel weird...
Guess what, you guys! I'm getting my bottom braces off on the 15th! I'm so damn excited, but also petrified that orthodontist lady is going to change her mind and say that actually I need to keep them on for three billion more years.
It will be nearly exactly two years since I got them on on the day that I get them off. Bitches told me fifteen months...Bitch, please.
from next thursday onwards this is all I'm going to see in the mirror
Just teeth, perfectly perfect teeth
Look how happy my teeth will be!
And I know that I'm going to keep criticising them anyway, but at least other people won't (right?)
